The Fresh Look

Hey There Pretty Fashionistas,

Here are tips for fresh, flawless makeup that looks like you’re not wearing any. We should start by covering the basics and by that we mean your skin because it is the canvass to set off your make up. So that make up blends easily‚ first wash with cleanser and a cloth to gently exfoliate your face.

Moisturize.

The fastest, most natural way to do this is with a tinted moisturizer, choose something that has SPF so that it also contains sun protection. A reminder, though, that SPF may cause a white cast when pictures are taken. But if you’re not going out somewhere special and have your picture taken, then this is the perfect product for you. Because it’s sheer, it doesn’t have to match to your exact shade, as you have to do with foundation. This is as long as you blend the product out until it evens out the skin tone. You can even go slightly deeper to warm up your complexion. Apply it like a basic moisturizer.

Conceal.

For breakouts and under eye circles, use a pigment-rich concealer, the trick is not to use too much and go for something that just lessens the problem areas. For blemishes, dab, blend, and build up coverage in thin layers. For the dark circles, swipe the wand under your eyes, then pat with your ring finger to blend.

Powder.

If your skin gets shiny, follow this up with a setting powder or finishing powder. For me, the best product to use is an oil-absorbing loose powder or translucent powder (because it is translucent, you don’t have to pick up an exact shade). Use a fluffy brush and put the product on using a circular motion; this will leave an undetectable veil of cover-up.

Blush.

Cream blushes in warm peaches or corals give skin a natural, subtle flush that doesn’t make one look too put on. Pinks, on the other hand, look more made-up.

Shade.

A soft, brownish tint enhances your eyes’ natural contours and makes them pop up without showing up as shadow. Choose a shade slightly darker than your skin and brush it into the creases.

Balm.

Apply a tinted lip balm and pick a shade that matches your lips exactly. Pick up an MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade and press the color into your lips, concentrate it in the center of the lips and then blend out.

Lash and Curl.

Defined lashes are essential even for a no-makeup look. You can do away with the eye shadow and eyeliner but definitely not mascara. Apply two coats to the top lashes. For the finishing touch, use an eyelash curler to curl the lashes. Then you’re all set!

Stay Beautiful!

XOXO,

Nikki ♥
