Deep Sea Treasures

There is nothing more astonishing and intriguing than the treasures in the deep. These great finds range from gold coins, precious porcelain dinnerware, to something as extravagant as a diamond-infused chandelier!

A lot of these treasures come from other people’s misfortune, believe it or not. Shipwrecks has long plagued the travelers of the sea. These accidents do not choose who the victims would be–young or old. As the old saying goes, “If it’s your time, then it’s your time.” This might be the same reason why the finds are most often than not, interesting and exotic.

One of the most famous wrecks in history is The Nuestra Senora de Atocha. According to records, the ship was so extravagantly loaded that it took 2 whole months for the crew to finish the inventory and transfer the items into the ship. We are talking about copper, silver, and lots and lots of jewelries of gold! Sadly, the ship sank in the Florida Keys around the year 1622 and it took up until 1985 to discover parts of the legendary treasure trove. However, up to this date, the stern castle (the most valuable part of the ship) is yet to be found.

Another great find is the wreck of the S.S. Gairsoppa which was carrying an approximate £600,000 worth of Silver when it was sunk by a German U-Boat in the year 1941. It was discovered in the North Atlantic in 2011 by the Odyssey Marine Exploration recovering only 43 percent of the lost treasure.

Perhaps my most favorite finds of all time, The Antikythera Treasures, is not just made up of the usual gold, diamond, and silver. Both of the expeditions done in the 1900s and 1976 recovered items that were significant in history. One of these finds is the Antikythera mechanism (1976) which received an overwhelming amount of media coverage as it is believed to be the very first analog computer in time. Also, a bronze sculpture dating around 340 to 330 B.C. was among  the treasures. It was called Statue of A Youth and was placed on display together with the other artifacts in the National Archeological Museum in Greece until around August of 2013.

How about you dearies? Have you ever found yourself wondering what is yet to be discovered in the deep, vast sea?

Admittedly, it can be hard to read people these days. Does it matter how long it took to return your text? Did they just give you attitude because they only sent one word, or are they just really busy?

Behind the Seams. An indiscreet look at the mechanics of Fashion

Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the complex designs of lingerie. More than 200 exhibits from the XIV century to the present day, will be on display in the Louvre Museum until 24 November. Crinolines, panties, bras  wore by stylish and fashionable women for centuries to create the trendy silhouette of the era.

In earlier times shapewear enjoyed a great popularity, especially among the bourgeoisie, it was used to emphasize their social status. At the beginning of XX century designers Nicole Groult,Paul Poiret and Madeleine Vionnet decided to abandon the popular “hourglass” silhouette and have introduced the fashion for more free feminine forms, which were then picked up by Coco Chanel.

This exhibition, the first and only of its kind, opens the curtain and shows a completely different side of the story clothing and fashion, full of secrets and surprising revelations.

10 Signs He Might Be The One

I Love His Posts ….

James Michael Sama

It’s hard enough in today’s dating world to find someone that you even want to see more than a few times…so it seems nearly impossible to be able to determine if someone could actually be “the one” for you, right?

It may not be as difficult as you think. Happy relationships aren’t just about the inherent qualities that your partner has. While that is obviously high up on the list, there are also other factors to consider. In this article we will discuss a few of them.

You love who you are when you’re with him.

A great relationship isn’t just how you feel about your partner, it’s also about how you feel about yourself when you’re with him. Does he bring out your best self? Does he support and encourage you to become better, but also love and accept you just how you are?

When you are with…

The Mystery of Mermaids

Almost every woman I know had a time in their lives when they became  curious about mermaids. These mythical goddesses of the deep were  beautifully depicted on countless fairy tales, cartoons, and illustrated books that it is so hard not to wonder about their existence. Although most skeptics dismiss the possibility, a lot of sightings were reported throughout history–some even made it to modern news! Here are some: The town of Kiryat Yam in Israel is possibly one of the most involved communities in the quest for mermaids’ existence. Tourist accounts have been spreading like wildfire to this date, each one claiming to have had a glimpse of these aquatic beauties. This had become so popular that the local authorities had offered a bounty of 1 million dollars to whoever can produce legitimate proof. Unfortunately, though, all videos that were submitted were proven fake.

You can check this link for a sample:

Another modern day sighting was claimed by Dr. Torsten Schmidt while caught in an unexpected circumstance. Together with the famous engineering company, Geosurvey, they were set out to map the ocean floor in the Greenland Sea area for possible oil sites when they captured whale-like noises at 1000 meters below sea level. Since Dr. Schmidt is an accomplished Marine Geologist, it was very easy for him to rule out the differences between whales and other sea creatures, against mermaids. He immediately knew that this was a valid claim. Dr. Schmidt had proposed for GeoSurvey to sponsor further research about this discovery however was denied due to business concerns.

Up to this date, the doctor had continued with his research and produced a number of footage that were featured on Animal Planet.

Interesting? Absolutely!

What if you found out that mermaids were real?

10 Signs He’s Secretly A Jerk

James Michael Sama

Not all men who are players are just players. Some work harder to put on more of an act in order to get, and keep your attention – but they’re not really who they say they are.

A fake gentleman is a more evolved version of a player. He puts on a facade for even longer than it takes for a one night stand. He may keep up appearances for awhile but he does small things along the way that make you raise your eyebrows and wonder if he’s just a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Here are a few signs that he isn’t what he seems to be.

He is nice to you, but not to those around you.

I always encourage women to pay attention to how the man they’re dating treats the waitress/waiter, bartender, doorman, those on the street, or others whom he has no formal interest…
