🌟 Nikki

You might not think a clean organized house & office makes much of a difference in your sleep, but walking into a clean organized home and crawling into a crisp, clean bed at night is just about the most relaxing thing you can do.

Wapusk National Park

Wapusk National Park is one of Canada’s many national parks, and was established in 1996. The park is located in north-east Manitoba, Canada, on the shores of Hudson Bay.

There is limited access to the park because of its remote location and preservation. It is one of the wildest and most remote of Canadian landscapes. Wapusk National Park is incredibly remote. There are only two ways that people can access Cape Churchill: either by helicopter or a tundra buggy. Visitors can only access the park via authorized commercial contractors. These contractors run “Tundra Buggies” tours or helicopter tours of the area.

What draws people to Wapusk, and why it was most likely established as a national park, are the polar bears.  Churchill is known as the “Polar Bear Capital of The World” and Wapusk is one of the premier areas in the world to view and photograph polar bears.

The name “wapusk” is the Cree word for polar bear (wâpask). The park is home to Cape Churchill, which is known as the best place in the world to locate and photograph wild polar bears. The park protects one of the world’s largest polar bear maternity den, where the mothers give birth and nurture the young ones while still on a fragile stage.

Aside from polar bears, this is a region where a surprising number of incredible plants and animals survive and thrive. Numerous birds are found in the Wapusk National Park and it is a also a likely breeding area of the Short-billed Dowitcher. There is also a habitat along the coast of Hudson Bay for hundreds of thousands of waterfowl and shorebirds. There has been also been reported evidence that the temperamental grizzly bears are migrating into the polar bear territory. Researchers found seven grizzly bears have been spotted in Wapusk National Park, between 2003 and 2008.
